A geofence is an area defined on a map. The purpose of a geofence is for you to be warned (receive a notification) if the vehicle leaves or enters a specific area.
It is important to keep in mind that all GPS receivers have a certain margin of error; therefore, make your geofence slightly larger than the actual area the vehicle is allowed to be in. If, for example, you want to receive an alarm if the vehicle leaves the garage driveway, it may be a good idea to also have the geofence cover a nearby lot.
