To be able to connect your GPS to an alarm center and use the SSF function, the device needs to have an active Premium data plan, as well as a separate agreement with the alarm center.
Requirements
The device must have an active data plan (Premium) to be able to communicate and send positions.
You also need your own agreement with the alarm center (e.g., Avarn) for the connection to be valid according to SSF requirements.
Step 1: Activate Premium Data Plan
You can start a data plan either in the mobile app or in the web app.
Mobile app:
Open the SweTrack Live app on your phone. If you have not downloaded the app, you can do so via the App Store or Google Play.
Log in with your login details.
Go to the device page and select your device.
Click the Data plan button and then Start data plan. Then follow the on-screen instructions.
Web app:
Go to the web app www.swetrack.com/live and log in to your account. If you do not have an account, click Register, follow the instructions, and log in.
-
Navigate to the Data plans page.
If you are using a computer: click the icon that looks like a card in the menu on the left.
If you are using a mobile device: tap the hamburger menu and select Data plans.
Click Add card and fill in your card details.
Click Activate and choose the data plan that suits you. Then follow the on-screen instructions.
Remember: The device needs to get a valid position to appear on the map after the data plan has been activated. The easiest way to do this is to shake the device outdoors or take a short drive around the block. It may take up to 20 minutes for the data plan to activate on your device.
Step 2: Connect the Device to the Alarm Center
Go to Settings in the app.
Select Devices and tap the device you want to connect.
Tap Alarm Central.
Select the alarm center from the list (e.g., Avarn) and tap Confirm.
Optional: Under Additional info you can add information about the asset (e.g., registration number, model), so that the alarm center can see this if the theft mode is activated.
Step 3: Sign Agreement with Alarm Center and Submit It
After you have chosen an alarm center, you need to sign a separate agreement.
Open your device in the app and go to Settings → Devices → [your device] → Alarm Central
Tap Alarm Central Contract to download the agreement.
Sign the agreement.
Send the signed agreement to the alarm center.
Important: This agreement is separate and is made between you and the alarm central. It is not connected to SweTrack.
Once the alarm center has approved the agreement, you can proceed to the next step.
Step 4: Run Installation Test and Send Test Alarm
Go to Settings → Devices → [your device] → Alarm Central → Installation Test.
Check that all points turn green (e.g., that the device has recently updated its position, is connected to the server, and that the data plan is active).
Confirm that the position on the map is correct and tap Start test.
Call the alarm center according to the instructions in your agreement and inform them that you will send a test alarm.
Check the box in the app and tap Send test alarm.
When the alarm center confirms that the test alarm has been received, complete the step Confirm in the app.
After a successful test, you can click Installation and Function Certificate to download the test certificate.
Step 5: Activate SSF Theft Mode (Alarm Zone)
Open the device in the app.
Go to Alarm Central and tap the button next to Arm device
Follow the steps and confirm the zone.
When theft mode is active, a zone is automatically created around the device. If the device leaves the zone, the alarm center is alerted. Remember that you must deactivate theft mode before you use the car yourself, otherwise the device will alert the alarm center when it leaves the zone and you may be charged by the alarm central.
Remember
Function tests should normally be performed regularly (every three months) according to the SSF routine.
If any step fails: first check the data plan, coverage, and that the device has received a recent position, then run the test again.
