This issue may occur if your product is unable to pick up a correct GPS position. As part of the quality control process, the products are functionally tested at several points, including when the internal memory is tested by reading in a test coordinate. In some cases, the transmitter uploads this position when it has nothing else stored in the internal memory. This usually happens because of one of the following reasons:
- The device is indoors and the signal does not reach the GPS satellites.
- The device is behind very thick material such as thick sheet metal, which prevents the signals to reach the GPS satellites.
- The device has not had time to get a correct GPS ping yet.
To fix the problem, make sure that the device has access to power and then shake the device outdoors so that it can more effectively get in touch with the GPS satellites. Also double check that you have an active data plan for the device.
