Your SweTrack tracker contains many different technical components and modules to ensure that you always get an accurate positioning in as short a time as possible. Here we explain how some of the components in our trackers work together to give you the fantastic user experience that only a tracker from SweTrack can offer!
Satellite/GPS chip
The satellite/GPS chip is the heart of all our products - without a GPS chip, the tracker can not find out it’s current position. We use GPS chips from established manufacturers in our products so that you always get a correct position from your tracker. The GPS chip itself is microscopic and it works together with a solid antenna to find out the current position using the satellites. The chip then interprets the data received through the antenna and converts it into information that we can understand, coordinates.

Some models also support methods other than satellite tracking, such as Wifi tracking, and therefore also have a Wifi chip.
Radio chip
The radio chip handles all communication with the server solution over the mobile data network (Internet).
The transmitter has a built-in radio chip with an associated SIM card that communicates with the established mobile masts that are found in all countries around the world. This allows tracking of your SweTrack device whether it is located in the garage driveway, highway or in another country. Simply explained, each SweTrack tracker includes a small built-in mobile phone. This radio chip (or mobile phone if you like) uses the standard mobile network to transmit the information to you as a user. The SweTrack device also uses all mobile operators in all countries, which means that it constantly searches for the operator with the best coverage at the moment and uses that mobile network. This technology has been proven for a long time and is used by everyone who owns and uses a mobile phone. The networks are therefore well developed worldwide and have superior operational reliability compared to other similar technologies.
Software
The device's software helps the device to locate the current position, check battery level, ensure that alarm functions and sensors work and communicate with our server platform in a smooth manner.
Sensors
Each SweTrack device includes a range of intelligent sensors to allow you to customize tracking in a way that suits you. For example, all our products contain a motion sensor, the feature of which is to register movements. This sensor is the core of what we call power saving mode - this means that the device is in a power saving mode (to save battery) when it is stationary/at rest, but as soon as a movement is noted, the device wakes up and begins to register and report its position in real time. This is made possible by the device's built-in software and the radio chip, which handles communication with our tracking platform and from there on to you as a user. The device also includes several other sensors that can vary from model to model; for example mounting sensor, light sensor, sound sensor, altitude sensor, etc.
Some models also have support for connecting external sensors, such as water & fuel level sensors, temperature sensors and more.
Battery
All SweTrack devices have at least one built-in battery. The size of the battery varies depending on the model, and the area of use of the model. SweTrack Lite, SweTrack Plus, MultiTracker and others that are intended for mounting on vehicles have only a small backup battery, while products such as MaxiTracker are powered individually by a powerful battery. The software in our devices ensures that the battery life is optimized.
Outer shell
All these components are hidden behind a shell, which is not only made to look good but also to protect the components from water, dust and other damage.
