In order for you as a customer to be able to track your device's location, it is required that you have both an account and an active data plan for the specific device. This may sound complicated but to make it easier we sort out the different concepts in the text below.
Why do I need an account?
Today, all of our SweTrack devices are controlled using our integrated SweTrack Live platform, which is available both as a mobile app and as a web-based service on the Internet. To be able to get a full overview of your devices, you need an account on SweTrack Live. Creating an account is the first step to being able to track your devices, you can read more about how SweTrack Live works and its features under the article Getting started with the app.
Once you have created an account on SweTrack Live, you will need to register your devices in the account. One step in this process is to activate a data plan for the specific device.
What does it mean to activate a data plan?
Unlike other products, you do not need to get your own SIM card, e.g. a prepaid card, to use our products. Instead you need to activate a data plan for mobile data traffic. A data plan allows the product, with the help of the built-in SIM card, to connect to the Internet and transfer its position to you, so that you can view it in the SweTrack Live app. Without a data plan, the product will not work, as it will not be able to report its location to you. You can read more about the built-in SIM card, how it works and why it is needed in the article about the built-in SIM card.
It is important to note that each individual device needs its own data plan to work properly.
In summary
This means that you as a customer need to have an account on SweTrack Live and each individual device on your account also needs to have an active data plan to be able to track and transfer data to the SweTrack Live platform.
