A geofence is a defined area on a map. The purpose of a geofence is to warn you if the vehicle leaves the specified area. A common application is to have a geofence set up around your jetty where you have your boat or the garage in which your car is parked.
You can easily create and edit a geofence via SweTrack live, both on mobile and web browsers. In this article, we go through how to proceed for all platforms.
This guide is divided into three parts: View your active geofences, Create new geofences and Edit or delete geofences.
Keep in mind that no geofence alarms will be sent until you have activated push notifications, see the article Notification settings for more info.
It is also important to keep in mind that all GPS receivers have a certain margin of error; therefore, make your geofence a little larger than the actual area in which the vehicle is allowed to be. For example, if you want to receive an alarm if the vehicle leaves the garage driveway, it may be a good idea to also let the geofence cover a nearby plot.
If you have problems getting your geofence and associated alarms to work, see the following article for troubleshooting.
